Setting Up MAMP Pro 6.6 on Mac OSX Monterey 12.5.1
Downloading & Installing
Go to https://www.mamp.info. The web page that opens will auto detect whether you are on a Mac or on a PC. Click on the FREE DOWNLOAD button (Figure 1). A new page/screen will open in which you will be prompted to select either MAMP 6.6 for Intel Macs, or MAMP 6.6 for M1 Macs. Since I do not have the M1 chip in my computer, I will download MAMP & MAMP Pro 6.6 for Intel. If your Mac is an M1 Mac, select the M1 version of MAMP & MAMP Pro (Figure 2).Once the MAMP installer package is downloaded, go ahead and double click the MAMP package icon and MAMP & MAMP pro will be installed on your computer, in your Applications folder.
You can use the free version of MAMP if you want but this article is for MAMP Pro. Even though MAMP Pro is installed on your computer, you will be required to purchase the MAMP Pro license in order to unlock the pro version.
When downloading, a modal popup window appears for Namo (another offering from MAMP). Just click outside the modal window in the darker gray area and it will disappear.
Once the installer hass downloaded, go ahead and double click the installer package to install MAMP/MAMP Pro.
The application will be installed in your Applications folder in a new directory called MAMP. MAMP Pro can be installed the same way, after purchasing the Pro version. Once it is set up, your Applications folder should look similar to the image on the side (minus the red color highlight).
Now launch MAMP Pro (MAMP PRO.app) from the Applications directory and after it launches, keep it in the dock for easy future access
